About Me:

I grew up spending summers at my family cottage, surrounded by nature and wildlife my parents nutured my love for all animals. I can recall spending hours catching fish, frogs and snakes by the water, and eventually earned myself the nickname of Em The Froggy Girl.

My proffessional career with animals began in high school when I started working at a veterinary clinic. I then moved on to do animal care and outreach education at a CAZA accredited zoo. Before graduating highschool I would occasionally volunteer at a wildlife refuge. Between working for the zoo and the wildlife refuge I would occassionally bring an animal or two home to take care of without asking my parents permission. 

Studying Zoology in university was the next logical step for me. I worked at the zoo in the summer and kept myself busy during the school year volunteering and learning from the most wonderful veterinarian who worked specifically on cats and turtles (a perfect combo i.m.o.!).
 

This blog will contain stories about my experiences. My dreams are big and many, in the end they all seem to include animals. I hope you enjoy and maybe learn something!
